Counting from the birth of the first plastic product celluloid, the plastics industry has a history of more than 150 years so far. Its development process can be divided into the natural polymer processing stage, the synthetic resin stage and the big development stage. The natural polymer processing stage is mainly characterized by the modification and processing of cellulose. During this period, some chemists synthesized a variety of polymers in the laboratory, such as novolac resin, polymethyl methacrylate, and polychloride. Ethylene, etc., laid the foundation for the later development of the plastic industry.

The synthetic resin stage is characterized by the production of synthetic resin as the basic raw material. As the first colorless resin, urea-formaldehyde resin was also born in this period. General materials such as polyethylene, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride have developed rapidly, and the raw materials have shifted from coal. It is mainly based on petroleum, which ensures the full application of polymer chemical raw materials.

The output of general plastics has expanded rapidly during the large-scale development stage. The application of new technologies such as reinforcement, compounding and blending has given the raw materials more excellent comprehensive properties and expanded their application scope. At present, the world volume of plastic-based synthetic materials has long exceeded the output of all metals.

Why plastic can develop so fast in just 100 years is mainly because it has a variety of incomparable advantages. Taking child proof bottles as an example, its advantages are as follows:

2. Acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, excellent electrical insulation, and still maintain a certain degree of toughness at low temperatures;

High-density polyethylene bottles have also been widely used in pharmaceutical packaging, shampoos, cosmetics, etc. In the future, with the development of high technology, high Density polyethylene bottles will have more processing methods and product forms, which will play a greater role in people's production and life.
